On May 7, 2021, with the support of Invest Gagauzia , the implementation of an investment project for the installation of solar panels for the production of electricity began on a land plot of about 19 hectares in the village of Tomai. Mayor's Office of Tomay and SRL "Sierra Solar Systems" signed a long-term lease agreement for 30 years. This project will use the most modern equipment and a digital automated dispatching and power control system.
It is important to mention that this project will be the first in the Republic of Moldova in terms of the level of automation and the use of the best practices.
The implementation of this project will improve the region's energy infrastructure, provide 30 jobs for the local population, and provide revenues to the local and republican budgets. The investor will reimburse the costs of electricity used in social institutions in the village of Tomai.
