Moldova-Turkish Forum

From June 16 to June 18, 2022, the Moldovan-Turkish Forum was held in the Republic of Moldova with the participation of businesses from Moldova and Turkey.
The Moldovan-Turkish Forum was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Invest Moldova, Invest Gagauzia and the German Agency for International Cooperation GIZ.
Within the framework of the forum on June 18, a delegation from Turkey, which included the mayor of Mersin city, Vahap Sheker, director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mersin, Ayhan Kyzyltan and 39 Turkish entrepreneurs visited Gagauzia.
Bashkan of Gagauzia, Irina Vlah, addressed the business community of Mersin and identified priority areas for the development of the autonomy: “Dear representatives of Turkish business, we want to assure you that it is in Gagauzia that you will be able to receive full support in the implementation of your investment projects. Gagauzia is your reliable partner in the Republic of Moldova,” noted Bashkan.
The delegation from Mersin region was also welcomed by the Consul of the Republic of Turkey in Gagauzia, Hassan Akdoğan, who, in turn, noted the established diplomatic and economic relations between Gagauzia and Turkey, the implementation of many joint social and business projects.
In the information part of the forum, the Investment Promotion and Export Promotion Agency of the ATU Gagauzia presented the prospects and opportunities for investing in the autonomy, the General Directorate of the Agro-Industrial Complex of Gagauzia presented the potential for the development of the agricultural sector, as well as the mayor's offices of the municipality. Comrat and mun. Ceadir-Lunga, presented the investment profiles of the cities of Gagauzia.
Within the framework of the Moldo-Turkish Forum in Gagauzia, B2B sessions were organized between Turkish and Gagauz businesses in such sectors as: construction, logistics, waste processing, agriculture, tourism, packaging, trade, etc. Companies from both sides were able to discuss the prospects for joint cooperation and building partnerships.
